Free School Meals

Income-Related FSM Application Form

The Government gives extra money to schools to help children from lower income families do their very best. The funding is called ‘Pupil Premium’ and the amount is based on the number of children in each school registered for Income-Related Free School Meals (FSM). For every child registered for FSM, Fynamore School gets extra income, to help support the children’s needs. If you are registered for Income-Related FSM your child can receive free lunches and free milk and you could also get help with costs of residential school trips. Over the past couple of years (Covid), pupils eligible for Income-Related FSM also received supermarket vouchers to help support families during lockdown and school holidays. If you are registered, your child does not have to eat a school meal/have milk if they don’t want to.

Your child may be eligible for income related FSM's if you are in receipt of:

  • Income Support

  • Job Seeker's Allowance (income-based)

  • Employment and Support Allowance (income-related)

  • support under part six of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

  • the Guarantee element of State Pension Credit

  • Child Tax Credit - providing you are NOT entitled to Working Tax Credit and your family's annual income (as assessed by HMRC) is not more than £16,190 (as at 6 April 2012)

  • Working Tax Credit 'run-on' - the payment you may receive for a further four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit

  • Universal Credit (provided you have an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400, as assessed by earnings from up to three of your most recent assessment periods)

Please contact the School Office for a paper application form. Once completed please return to the school office. Alternatively you can apply online via Wiltshire Council's website.
