How can I get support and advice for my family?

At Fynamore School, we are very lucky to have a Family Support Advisor dedicated to the families of our pupils – Mrs. Emma Groom.

Families come in all shapes and sizes. Being a Parent or Carer is one of the most fulfilling things we’ll ever do, yet it is also one of the most demanding and we can all do with a little bit of help now and then.

Our Family Support Advisor, Mrs. Groom, can help you seek information and resources to support you and your family. She is able to do this in an impartial, non-judgemental way, allowing you and your family to be supported as your child makes their journey through our school.

What type of support is on offer?

Here are some examples of the things that our Family Support Advisor can help with:

Offering a listening ear
Parenting concerns
Adult learning opportunities
Strengthening existing parenting skills
Practical strategies to improve learning, behaviour and relationships
Healthy lifestyle/eating issues
Routines, mealtimes, sleep and play
Supporting parents and carers to ‘get involved’ with school life
Housing and money worries
Family relationship problems
Referring, accessing and signposting to local services
New starts and settling in
Food bank vouchers
Helping with paperwork and forms
